Lembrar o potencial e as possibilidades da arte, é romântico, num certo sentido. A exposição O Sonho de Wagner, retira o seu título ao
"O Anel de Nibelungo" (1848-1874) que refere como a sociedade se torna refém do poder e do dinheiro e, como isso é destrutivo… Objectivamente, esta alusão - actualmente - é extraordinariamente importante: nós podemos ver isto, no tempo presente; os problemas, os sonhos, são os mesmos que agora nos ocupam. A sociedade esqueceu-se do essencial, parecendo que a economia se tornou na medida absoluta de como nós ordenamos e ditamos o progresso e o desenvolvimento. É interessante lembrar como no nosso país já não é possível sonhar, empreender é impossível mesmo, sobretudo na arte! Paradoxalmente só a arte nos oferece tudo.
Vasto Mundo o do Romantismo
O título da exposição O Sonho de Wagner, é também uma referência à arte pela arte, nosso último reduto de participação e liberdade e, segundo, uma referência ao romantismo – à necessidade de nos construirmos em liberdade de pensamento, que nos permita encontrar a verdadeira medida da nossa loucura, exaltando o prazer dos sentidos capaz de captar as emoções e a sensibilidade da humanidade. O romantismo enquanto arte, sempre apareceu ligado ao conceito de liberdade, de transcendência entre outros, no sentido revolucionário.
Ainda que o romantismo se exprima entre a época neo-classicista (quase em simultâneo, ainda que numa óptica antagónica) e o realismo, actualmente é difícil (insensato) estabelecer -com precisão - onde começa o romantismo em termos de espírito, comportamento e vontade. O termo “romântico” designa menos um período histórico ou um movimento artístico preciso, que um conjunto de qualidades, temperamentos, de atitudes e sentimentos - cujas particularidades residem na sua natureza específica e sobretudo na origem das suas relações. À medida da literatura, o romantismo terá a sua origem em Shakespeare (Romeu e Julieta) e reencontra-se em Baudelaire.
Mas o que é sobretudo original no romantismo, é o princípio que reúne naturezas duplas, através de uma linha que corre entre o sentimento (emoção) e a razão: ligação que não visa excluir as contradições ou resolver o dualismo (as antíteses) espírito/ coração, vida/ morte, finito/ infinito, do bem e do mal, mas acolhê-las numa coexistência (complementaridade) que constituí a verdadeira novidade do romantismo.
O critério simples que determinou a escolha metódica dos artistas, é podermos encontrar personalidade romântica em aspectos da vida de cada um destes artistas, devendo o visitante fazer a sua própria leitura das obras expostas. É incrivelmente importante a complexidade que a prática artística nos pode trazer.
A exposição O Sonho de Wagner responde a um propósito específico, de incitar o visitante a apropriar-se no essencial do “sentimento romântico”.

Sonores Radio on 90.9 FM in Guimarães and online at http://sonores2012.org
Sonores (sound/space/signal) is a curatorial project of residencies and regular activities around a radio capsule/station (both its physical epicenter and transversal concept), proposing artistic and theoretical guidelines thinking on the concepts of “sound” and “transmission”.
Encompassing a wide range of practices and media (sound installations, speculative architecture, radio art, performance and music) and of theoretical approaches (through the publication of a curatorial research and pre-archival book), Sonores will develop in a flow of transmissions and live actions having in common the radiophonic medium’s transversality and the abstract space of electromagnetic frequencies.

How to come :
* If you travel to Guimarães by train from Porto, exit on the station Covas and walk alongside the railway line towards Oporto. CP railways serves urban and intercity trains to and from Guimarães Oporto/Guimarães line. For information about timetables and prices visit CP website.
* by car: using the network of highways you can go to Guimarães from Porto in 30 minutes (A7 and A3), from Braga in 15 minutes (A11), from Vigo (Spain) in 90 minutes (A7 and A3) and from Lisbon in 180 minutes (A3, A7 and A1). When exiting the highway (Guimarães Sul exit) follow the signs for the National Road 105. By the first roundabout take the second exit; by the second roundabout take the first exit; and by the third roundabout, take the second exit and a bit further, alongside the railway line on your left, you will be at ASA.
* by Bus: take the bus number 11 – Nespereira – (on the stop located at Campo da Feira - S. Francisco Mall) or 72 – S. Martinho de Candoso – Via Covas (on the stop located at Largo Valentim Moreira de Sá) or 82 – S. Martinho de Candoso – Via Covas (on the stop located at Avenida S. La galerie et revue Area vient de sortir un numéro intitulé « Artiste, un métier ? ». Portraits et Jeune Création ont invité une trentaine d’artistes avec qui ils ont travaillé depuis deux ans (Memento…). Un dispositif à découvrir au sein de l’exposition permettra d’interroger le « métier d’artiste ».
